Sawantwadi Mahotsav

To boost the tourism movement Sawantwadi Municipal Council is Celebrating Tourism Festival since last year. The first Tourism festival was held in January 2004. A cheerful support was given to this festival by the Citizens of Sawantwadi, people of Sindhudurg District and the Tourists. The festival was a resounding success. Tourism is going apace in Sawantwadi. Various projects undertaken by the Sawantwadi Municipal authorities are keeping in harmony with the tourism and add in to the beauty of the place. Which dot the face of Sawantwadi Tourism movement has opened vast vistas of development of this town.

Generally the venue is near Moti Talao, Situated in the midst of Sawantwadi town and the festival would have various attractions like food festival, cultural programmers and art activities, Exhibitions and Sales, beauty contests, fashion Shows, Sports Competition Etc. Renowned Singers, Performing artists are one of the many attractions of this festival. Sawantwadi Municipal Council is publishing a souvenir containing history and development of the town.

Ganesh Festival

A festival of god Ganesha. It is presumed that god Ganesha comes to stay your house, with due respect to your invitation & the period you have invited for. You have to be there at home at least when guest has come. Hence this is the only festival where almost all people, staying away, come back to perform this joyful holy festival. This being biggest festival in Konkan, lot of vegetables, fruits, decoration material, crackers etc. are available in market.
